Meet Mick

Prior to founding Inner Power therapy, my background was in working with young people in an educational environment who had a diverse range of special needs. I was primarily working with teenagers and young adults with Autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. I also worked with neurotypical young adults who were facing their own set of challenges as they navigated the transition to adulthood.
I gained invaluable experience and developed a strong understanding of behaviour, communication, and the importance of tailored interventions. This hands-on experience provided a solid foundation for transitioning into psychotherapy. This progression reflects a deepened commitment to helping others, expanding from direct support in educational settings to offering professional therapy aimed at emotional healing, self-discovery, and long-term well-being.
As a psychotherapist, I now work with clients of all ages, using therapeutic techniques to support mental health and personal growth in a more structured and clinical setting. I am passionate about helping people to break free from their past trauma and to live more fulfilling lives. I meet the person where they are at and develop a plan to work with them to reconnect with their Inner Power.
I am an integrative psychotherapist which means I am trained in many different modalities. I offer both in person and online therapy. When working with children under 16 there is an initial consultation with the parents for 60 minutes and after that each session is typically 45 minutes long but can be tailored based on the needs of the child. Sessions for adults are 50 minutes.
I hold an Honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am preaccredited member of Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). I also hold a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Special Needs Assistant. I am trained in Children’s First and Mandated Reporting.
